Clean Cause is a drink company on a mission. They set out to provide a clean alternative to caffeinated drinks, focusing on organic ingredients while supporting the sober community. Founded in 2015, Wes Hurt wanted to support those in recovery after battling his own addictions. Wes knew that creating a sustainable source of funding to support recovery from alcohol and drug addiction was part of the answer--and his purpose. Clean Cause gives 50% of profits to their giveback initiative coined “CLEAN Kickstarts”. The fund focuses on sober living scholarships that help individuals coming out of rehab, homelessness, or incarceration, giving them the bandwidth to focus on establishing a recovery routine and finding employment. To date, Clean Cause has given out 1,636 sober living scholarships representing $818,000. They have accomplished a lot and made quite an impact in just 5 short years.
The Austin-based company is now in Whole Foods nation-wide. The Clean Cause product line features their Original Organic Sparkling Yerba Mate in flavors such as Blackberry, Watermelon Mint, Peach, Raspberry, Lemon Lime as well as their Zero Calorie Organic Sparkling Yerba Mate. There is something for everyone-- sober or not, because as they say, it’s “better caffeine.”
