Pip and Glenn Summerville of Tonik, a father-daughter duo out of Australia, identified a gap in the marketplace and decided to do something about it. After downing one too many apple cider vinegar shots for their health, they developed a tasteless capsule to make the benefits easier to consume. Pip and Glenn realized they had skill sets that compliment each other, using Dad’s pharmacy background and daughter’s ecommerce knowledge to develop a business plan that worked. Riley Kinnane-Peterson and John Peterson, another father-daughter team, co-own Gunner and Lux, a kid-made jewelry and apparel brand. Working from their dining room table, the duo launched a brand that now sells to over 400 stores worldwide and is a true labor of love. Riley is the creative director, coming up with designs and ideas as well as packing and shipping up orders. Riley and John are the perfect example of taking a hobby and turning it into a profitable business.
