Hero Highlight: How YOU Can Be a Hero for Small Businesses

Companies and Leaders, Doing Right By Their Customers and Employees

Companies must pivot, innovate, and get creative--like never before. Some are leading by example. Take note.

Each week at reachXOD, we highlight companies who are going above and beyond to connect to their employees and customers during a time of uncertainty. With mounting isolation and fear, connection has never been more important. We’re celebrating companies and leaders who are demonstrating sound decision making, creative thinking, empathy, human connection, and resiliency. Not only do they deserve recognition, but they also provide context to real life business strategies that you and your company can model.

Small business has been one of the hardest hit sectors during the global pandemic. Large companies have had their challenges too, during this pandemic. Today, we are highlighting large businesses that are actively supporting small business. We encourage you to do the same.

Businesses including Facebook, American Express, Stand for Small and many more are doing their part to support small business during one of the biggest global crises thus far. Capital One, Allstate, Microsoft, Office Depot, LegalZoom and Web.com have come together to create the Small Business Connection, a free online resource to help small business owners. Facebook welcomed it’s new shop feature recently to it’s platforms, making it easier for small businesses to serve their customers. Businesses can create a facebook shop for free-- they can upload their catalog and customize their shop making the customer experience pretty flawless. Stand for Small has a section of their website where they offer deals and discounts to small businesses. With everything from payment management systems to moving trucks and rental cars, they are supporting small businesses with an easy place to access deals. American Express is offering small business free and discounted tools to help running their businesses easier, along with resources and information.

At reachXOD, we want to encourage you to think outside the box on how you can support your favorite businesses. Here’s how to be a hero for small business in your area:

  • Like or review the business online. It takes 2 minutes to give them some extra love!
  • Buy a product for yourself and another to send to a friend or family member.
  • Order takeout or delivery and give a big tip if you have the means.
  • Share about the business on your personal social media. Giving a shoutout can inspire others to support them as well.

In a time when so many businesses are closing their doors, we admire those businesses that are choosing to step up and help the small businesses who need it most. Take initiative. Be proactive and transparent. Be human. Look for the heroes. Learn from their journeys.

Do you know someone who is trying to start or restart their small business? We’ve created a service to help them get started or get back on their feet. With your help, we can reach more people who are looking for answers. At reachXOD, we are passionate about helping businesses during the challenges they face today.
